As Career Development Coordinator (CDC), I am available to help students be career and college ready by assisting with the career planning process, which includes self-assessments of learning styles, interests, values, experiences, skills and goals; career and college exploration; work-based learning and job searches including resume writing, completion of applications, interviewing skills and networking. Work-based learning may be part-time jobs, job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships and volunteer opportunities.

NCWorks Online offers free features and services to assist job seekers and employers in their workforce development needs. High school students who have taken the WorkKeys Assessment and received a WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (CRC), Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze, are strongly encouraged to register with their correct student ID number. Students must enter their Social Security Number in order to have their records matched in the NCWorks system and to have a permanent record of their WorkKeys CRC scores.

For new users, complete the registration process as instructed online. At the point of entering "Education Information", indicate the highest level of education, select "Yes" as a student or recent graduate, and enter the Student ID (PowerSchool number).

Once registered, users have access to:
-A personal file folder in which to save searches, system settings and other information
-Career assessment tools, including skills matching, that help match a person's qualifications and abilities to specific occupations
-A home page with customized news content
-Creation of resume and cover letters
-Automated job searches that deliver resumes to your system message box, an e-mail address you provide or both
