Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (“PBIS”)

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework for improving and integrating all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. It is a way to support everyone – especially students with disabilities – to create the kinds of schools where all students are successful.

Students earn points whenever they engage in behavior that demonstrates positive:

P - Pride;

A - Attitude;

T - Tolerance;

R - Responsibility;

I - Integrity;

O - On-Task Academic Behavior; or

T - Teachability.

What does this look like?

In the Classroom, students: maintain a clean area, remain positive, accept others’ differences, agree to disagree, practice social distancing, arrive on time, wear a mask according to school policy, work on remote learning days, do their best, be honest, stay focused, do their classwork, ask questions, and be present.

Around our Campus, students: keep it clean, help each other, respect others, practice social distancing, walk the traffic pattern, wear a mask according to school policy, do the right thing, follow the rules, and listen to instructions.

During Online learning, students: encourage each other, use kind words, value differences, log in on time, turn on the video and turn off the microphone (as appropriate), keep their devices charges, keep class links confidential, obey the internet usage policy, pay attention, complete their assignments on time, be ready to start on time, and choose a distraction-free work space.
